The Direct Leaching of Nickel Sulfide Flotation Concentrates - A Historic and State-of-the-Art Review Part II: Laboratory Investigations into Pressure Leaching

The following review is the second part of a series concerned with direct hydrometallurgical processing nickel sulfide flotation concentrates. In first this series, piloted leaching processes and commercial operations which employed were comprehensively reviewed. Part II laboratory investigations into pressure nickeliferous concentrates are critically analyzed. From review, it apparent that sulfuric acid have received most attention relative to other lixiviant systems such as ammonia/ammonium, chloride, nitric acid. This likely due numerous technical advantages sulfate-based offers lixiviants. Laboratory atmospheric concentrate explored in III series.
